Monthly Calendar
Bulletin-Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity

From the Pastor
The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity
The long series of liturgical importance are coming into conclusion with the return to the "Ordinary Sundays" in the liturgical calendar. This movement comes to its crescendo today. We prepare for Christ's coming in Advent, celebrate his birth at Christmas, go out with him in the desert during Lent, stayed with him during the holy week, see him rise on Easter and watch him ascend into heaven, let the Holy Spirit come down upon us last Sunday at Pentecost, and now, today, we rejoice in this "three-persons-in-one-God" who, we now understand, has been at work all along throughout the salvation history.

This is the movement of true love - the God who reveals himself, walks and lives among us is not just one person but three. How many persons? Three. But how many Gods? Only One. This is the mystery of the Holy Trinity, whom the greatest theologians and thinkers tried to explain but could only be fathomed (if it is possible) even in a slightest hint with a heart that knows how to love.

We begin every prayer, and every liturgy, by revealing the inner life of our Maker - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We constantly remind ourselves of his presence as we pass every Catholic church and tabernacle. We pray this threefold life at the beginning of every rosary, and at the close of the day. This is our life, this is our God: perfect love manifest as life-giving unity between persons. Like the Trinity, you and I are made for eternal communion, to come to know and find ourselves only through a sincere gift of self.
